mEET THE TEAM
Lavelle "Blair" West
LaVelle “Blair” West was born in Seattle and was raised in Bremerton, WA. His family moved to Bellingham when he was 5 years old to be closer to his family roots. After graduating from Bellingham High, he went to college in Burnaby, B.C. on a football scholarship at Simon Fraser University. Eventually graduating with a degree in Criminology, he moved on to the petroleum industry. He then joined the family business, West Invest as a Financial Advisor. While working with clients, he kept running into situations where they needed advice on various types of insurance, particularly health insurance. With the guidance and advice from one of his mentors, Todd Smith, he decided to open his own insurance company to help address the need of providing quality insurance advice. He currently lives in Ferndale, WA with his wife, two children and their dog Benji. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, learning, hiking, traveling, reading, and participating in group sports.
Emily Beszhak
Emily grew up in Kirkland, moving to Bellingham in 2010 to attend Western Washington University where she obtained a degree in Philosophy. Since graduating in 2014, Emily found her way into a role as a Human Resources manager where she learned the ins and outs of group health insurance plans and other benefits. As a licensed Health Insurance Broker at Mountain View Insurance, Emily brings a passion for making the complicated topic of health insurance easy and approachable for individuals and employers. Emily currently resides in Bellingham with her husband Tyler and their cat Minnow. When not working, she spends her time painting, working on home renovations, cycling to local coffee shops, and spending time with nearby family.
